French Immersion
French Immersion Program Requirements and Expectations
The Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School French Immersion program is a system program open to students residing anywhere within Middlesex county. The French Immersion courses are offered at the academic and open level in grades 9 and 10 and the University level in grades 11 and 12.
The program requires students to complete a minimum 10 French Immersion credits: Grade 9, 10, 11, 12 French Immersion Language courses, Grade 9, 10, 11, 12 Religious Education courses, and two of the following: Grade 9 Geography, Grade 10 History, Grade 10 Careers and Civics.
French Immersion Assessments are required for students who are coming from a Grade 8 English Language School. Students who have a background in French Immersion or French First Language of 3,800 hours or equivalent and are currently attending an English Language school for grade 8 may be eligible to write a French Immersion assessment with the possibility of enrolling in French Immersion at MTS.
